30th January
I run my wedding business from home, mainly because I know that more and more people find it difficult to get away during the working week and so I find that it’s much easier to see people in the evenings and at weekends this way.  Also couples can see me when they want to see me. Because I shoot so many weddings each year my studio gets very little use and so a young lady called Claire came to see me today with a view to setting up a studio based boudoir photography business. With boudoir photography a person comes into the studio and is pampered with a professional make-up and hair session followed by a fun shoot in the studio with myself. For the boudoir shots the customer wears a selection of different lingerie or negligee outfits and is professionally and tastefully photographed in a boudoir style setting. This form of photography is fast becoming extremely popular with both the ladies and the gentlemen and the best bit from the point of view of the ladies, is that it’s often the gentleman who pays for his favourite girl to be photographed this way!

Rebecca and Neil came round today to book their wedding photography with me. They’re getting married at the lovely old church in Grange Road, Netley Abbey called St. Edwards church. The great thing about St. Edwards Church is that it’s only a short walk down the road to Netley Abbey ruins where we can get some fabulous pictures after the wedding ceremony before going on to the McDonald Botley Park Hotel for the reception. By coincidence I photographed Neil’s best man’s wedding last year and his name’s Neil as well. Not only that but I also photographed the wedding of best man Neil’s brother a couple of years before that and we were lucky enough to get one of his wedding photographs in the Southern Daily Echo and in two of the national newspapers as well!

Jennifer and Damian from Fareham also booked their wedding photography with me today and they’re getting married at The New Place at Shirrell Heath, Shedfield in November. New Place is another of those wonderful venues where you can almost guarantee that you’re going to get a great set of wedding pictures. There’s so many nooks and crannies and hidden corners at New Place that whether you’re taking photographs inside or out, you’re going to capture an exciting set of images. The staff at New Place are also some of the most helpful I’ve found.

I’ve just been to the Fitness First Gym in Fareham today to photograph Dave, the manager, and his staff. Dave and his crew always make me feel welcome and it’s always a pleasure to photograph such a great looking set of fit Guys and Gals. I just wish I was as fit!

Helen and Steven came down from Tooting in London today, to see me and have a chat about their wedding plans for their wedding at the Botleigh Grange Hotel, Hedge End. The Botleigh Grange Hotel is one of those wonderful places where I love to photograph weddings because you always get some exciting pictures no matter what time of the year it is. Even in the depths of winter you will still get a great set of pictures and Helen and Steven have booked me to photograph their October wedding and with the Botleigh Grange Hotel as a backdrop they’re sure to get an awesome set of pictures.

Kevin and Katie came round today to pick up their disc of images from baby Kieran’s baptism at St. Johns Church in Locks Heath and they loved the amount and variety of different pictures that I’d been able to capture for them. They’re a lovely couple and I wish them every happiness for the future. I have a special deal set up with Parker’s Photographic retailers in Woolston, Southampton and anyone taking a disc of my images in to them to be printed gets a substantial discount off their regular printing prices.

Today Philip and Claire came to see me and they’ve booked me to photograph their wedding at St Mary’s Church in Warsash on 19th June 2009. Although I tend to sell wedding packages to enable couples to know exactly what they’re getting and for what price, I’m always more than happy to design a package specifically suited to a couples individual wishes. Philip and Claire have asked that two photographers photograph their wedding ceremony at St. Mary’s Church at Warsash and go on to The Rising Sun at Warsash, but they will only need one photographer to stay for the evening’s celebrations and I’m sure they’ll get a great set of pictures that way.

I regularly photograph the managers and staff at the Fitness First Gyms across the Hampshire area and today I was at the Fitness First Gym in Shirley, Southampton photographing Louis and his staff. They’re a great bunch of people at all of the Fitness First Gyms and Shirley is no exception. I just wish I was half as fit as some of those guys.

What a great start to the New Year. I’ve just photographed the Baptism of baby Kieran at St. John’s Church at Locks Heath. It was one of those wonderfully sunny winter days that you sometimes get at this time of the year and it suited the occasion beautifully. Although we took a lot of the photos inside St. Johns Church itself, the weather was also just right for a few family groups outside as well. St. Johns Church at Locks Heath really lends itself to inside photographs and Anne, the vicar, was kind enough to let me to discreetly photograph the whole baptism service which gave parents Katie and Kevin a great set of photographs.

bl131st December
New Years Eve and I photographed a wonderful wedding today at Winslowe House, West End. It was the wedding of Lisa and Peter and Lisa told me that it’s also her birthday on 31st December.  As she seldom gets a chance to celebrate her birthday properly because it’s always overshadowed by New Years Eve celebrations, she decided to get married on her birthday so that her friends could help her celebrate this birthday in style. It was a lovely dry December day at Winslowe House and the light was wonderful for photographs but I thought I would make it extra special for Lisa by dropping this delightful sunset in behind them in this particular photograph!  Jane and Terry at Winslowe House always have a warm welcome waiting for everyone and today was no different.
I just hope that Peter remembers HIS wedding anniversary in the future!
